Michael Hurn

Michael is a seasoned rail industry specialist with over 30 years of experience working on some of the UK’s most complex and ambitious projects. He has led major projects such as the reconstruction of the King’s Cross station and the Intercity Express. Among his recent accomplishments, he served as project director for the first phase of the High Speed 2 (HS2) project—the UK’s largest transport initiative—as well as for the Thameslink Programme, which aimed to significantly modernize London’s rail network.

In 2014, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his major contributions to the British railway industry.

Michael holds a master’s degree in transport planning and management and is a member of the UK’s Association for Project Management.
